I cannot log in. What should I do?

Answer

Library login credentials work the same as other NetID logins across campus. Simply use your NetID and password to log on!

Your Library Account

If you are an active student, staff, or faculty member, you can log on to OneSearch to view your Library Account. With your Library Account you can request materials, place loans, request scans, and review your fines and fees. Note that Sponsored NetIDs do not have access to the Library Account feature.

Online Resources Details

To access UT Libraries online resources, all you need is your NetID and password! Once you click to access a resource in OneSearch, you will be prompted to log in with your NetID and password through Central Authentication Service.

Login Screen

  • On-Campus or Off-Campus You must be properly authenticated for access to our online subscriptions. You will be prompted to login with your NetID and password.
  • Individual Publisher Platforms You will be prompted for a NetID login automatically. This is all handled on the back-end. Always look for our Big Orange Power T or notices like "Access Provided by University of Tennessee Libraries" on publishers websites to show that you were properly authenticated. You (for the most part) do not need to log on to individual publishers/vendors websites to view and download materials. However, you may want to create an individual account with a specific publisher for a personalized experience or notifications.

My NetID or password is not working.

The Office of Innovative Technologies (OIT) manages all NetIDs and passwords. Your access to online Library resources is based off of your current listing in the UT Directory which includes your NetID. OIT manages the directory based off of data from IRIS and Banner. If you are experiencing issues with your NetID and/or password, you will need to contact OIT.

I am a sponsored researcher and was just provided a NetID and password, but I cannot access online Library resources.

There is usually a small delay in this process and it may take a few days for all systems to sync up with your information. The Office of Innovative Technologies waits for information from UT about your status and updates this on your directory listing. Access to our online resources is based off of your listing in the directory. You may need to contact OneStop or OIT to get your directory information and entitlements updated. If after a few days you are still having trouble, please contact UT Libraries.
