What is a database and how do I access them?
Answer
Databases are collections of information. In an academic library, databases typically house collections of academic journals, research documentation, and source materials. Some databases are very specific to an area or timeframe, others are more general. Read the database description or reach out to a librarian to see which works best for your topic.
The UT Libraries provide access to hundreds of databases which incorporate a variety of subjects and materials. For best results, and to avoid paying for access, it is recommended that you use the Libraries' Articles & Databases site to access databases.
