Q. What is ORCID?

Answer

ORCID identifiers give authors a unique number and persistent identifier, known as an "iD," to include in publications, grants, and websites. This helps authors distinguish their work by disambiguating names so that the proper "B. Smith" or "W. Li" receives credit. Authors with an ORCID iD automatically have a profile page where they can list all their publications, grant awards, and other research outputs.
