I am seeing a redirecting error in Firefox. What can I do?

Answer

When using Firefox off-campus, you may come across this error:

The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

This is related to a cookie configuration. If you update to Firefox 96.0.1 or beyond, your defaults should be set correctly. However, if you are still seeing the error, you can manually check your settings:

  1. Open Firefox
  2. In your address bar, type in about:config and hit enter
  3. Select Show All
  4. Scroll down to network.cookie.sameSite.schemeful
  5. Toggle this option to False
