How do UT Libraries compare to libraries of other large Universities?
Answer
Since 2003, the Association of Research Libraries has calculated the Library Investment Index (https://www.arl.org/arl-terms/arl-statistics/), which is “a measure of relative size” and investment among peer institutions that does not serve to measure the quality or success of a library’s services. By this measure, the UT Libraries ranks 22nd among U.S. Public University libraries, and 40th among all association members. See our Library Statistics page (www.lib.utk.edu/assessment/statistics) for more information and quick facts.
